The boys soccer team continued their postseason run today by topping #7 Bloomington South in the IHSAA Martisville Semi-State game. The win today puts the #3 Greyhounds in the State Championship game next weekend. The Hounds opened the scoring early in the first half, when senior Xander Dora played a ball across to senior Evan Bardos, who beat the keeper to make the score 1-0. The score stayed the same into halftime. In the second half, Dora found Bardos for a second time, making the score 2-0. As the Hounds continued to attack, they were able to draw a penalty kick, which senior Alex Rubin stepped up and calmly finished off to make the score 3-0. Shortly after the third goal, senior Quinn Wu found Bardos, who completed the hat trick on a beauty of a one-time finish. The Greyhounds wrapped up the scoring when senior Troy Enslin played the ball across to Wu, who played the ball into the net to bring the score to 5-0. Junior Gray Morgan recorded the shutout in goal. The win moves the team's season record to 17-1-3. They play next weekend, with more information to come, once the IHSAA releases the schedule.
