Greyhounds Girls XC Wins the Hamilton County XC Championships

The Carmel Girls Cross Country team won their 2nd consectutive Hamilton County Cross Country Championship in Noblesville this past Saturday with a season low 25 points to out-run 2nd place Fishers by 36 points. Junior Larkin Taylor was the overall Hamilton County Champion. Her time of 17:33 for 5K was a personal best by :18. Senior Sadie Foley, the 2024 individual champion, was a strong second place in her first competive race since the state track meet last June. She ran a personal best of 17:35. Other scorers for the Greyhounds all recording personal best or season best times were Annabel Pollert(Jr.)-5th, Margo Halle(So.)-6th, Kaitlyn Oshimura(Sr.)-11th, Anna Yoon(Jr.)-14th, and Ashley Kent(Fr.)-20th rounded out the top 7. Maddie Cox(Sr.), Elise Maurer(So.), Maija Gilhooly(Jr.), Arden Finley(Sr.), and Lilliana Cate(Sr.) all comprised the other varsity spots for Carmel finishing within 6 seconds of one another. In the JV race, Ellie Smith(Jr.) was the race winner in a personal best time. Senior Emma Kistler was 3rd overall in the 167 runner field. Next up for the Greyhounds is the Brownsburg Invitational on 9/6/2025.
