Each year the Carmel Athletics Department honors the coaches of the year. Nominations and voting are completed exclusively thru all coaches at Carmel High School. The 2024-2025 Assistant Coach of the Year is Kyle Cluver. Kyle finished his 9th season with the Greyhound boys track and field program last year. He has been key in the development of the Throws highlighted by two state qualifiers in 2025. Cluver has been on She staff of two state championship teams and a state runner-up finish. Kyle is well known inside Carmel High School as being kid-centered and teaches AVID & Math classes at the school. The 2024-2025 Jack Meachum Head Coach of the Year is Aaron McRill. Aaron led the 2025 girls track and field team to their first state title since 1999. Aaron finished his 11th year as the head coach of the program. A CHS alum, McRill coached student-athletes at Carmel Middle School prior to his time starting at CHS. Aaron is described by one of his student-athletes, “Coach McRill is always a smiling face at practice. He makes it a point to get to know all of the track athletes regardless of skill level and event.” He is the owner at Aaron McRill Wallcovering. The Head Coach of the Year Award is named after Greyhound Coach Jack Meachum, who lost his life in a tragic car accident in August 2023. He left us a legacy as a transformational coach willing to dedicate his time, expertise, and wisdom to the student-athletes of the lacrosse program.
