On Saturday, 10/19/24, the Carmel Girls Cross Country won the Sectional Championship in dominating fashion with a TEAM total of 27 points. The win for the Greyhounds was the 8th meet win of the season and Carmel’s first Sectional Championship since 2020. At the Sectional, the top 5 teams and top 15 individuals on non-qualifying teams advance onto the Regional on 10/26/2024 at Brownsburg. Carmel’s closest competitor was Bishop Chatard with 58 points followed by North Central-61, Zionsville-84, and Herron-153. Carmel’s 7 varsity runners earned All-Sectional individual honors. The TEAM was lead by Annabel Pollert(So.)-2nd/17:55, Sadie Foley(Jr.)-3rd/18:06, Larkin Taylor(So.)-4th/18:23, Ella Gaddis(Sr.)-7th/18:43, Olivia Mundt(Sr.)-11th/18:58, Margo Halle(Fr.)-14th/19:20, and Katy Dascoli(Sr.)-16th/19:23. Next Saturday’s Regional will play host to 25 teams and 75 individual runners who all will be trying to qualify for the State Meet on 11/2/2024 at LaVern Gibson in Terre Haute.
