Boys Track Wins Tri-meet over Noblesville, Westfield

The boys track team won a close tri-meet against Hamilton County rivals Noblesville and Westfield with 61 points. The host Shamrocks tallied 55 with the host Millers scoring 44. The throwing events took center stage for the 'Hounds with the junior duo of Ozzy Pollard and Theo Thurmond. In the shot, Thurmond won with a toss of 48'0.5 while Pollard took second just three inches behind at 47'9.5 for eight Carmel points. The result was reversed with Pollard smashing a throw 173'8 inches, a full ten feet over the state standard, and Thurmond at 162'7. In the relays, Carmel won a close 4x1 over Noblesville in 42.97 and took second in 3:29.82 in the 4x4. Hurdler Adom Quist was Carmel's only double winner with wins in both the 110 highs and 300 intermediates. Other individual champions for Carmel were senior Gabe LaBoyteaux in the 200 and sophomore Isaac Perrin in the 3200.
