Carmel Men’s Tennis picked up a strong 4-1 victory over the Cathedral Irish on Thursday night at Carmel High School. The Greyhounds were led by a pair of singles victories. At 2nd Singles, Miles Davidson battled back to earn a 4-6, 6-1, 6-2 victory, while Matthew Kim dominated at 3rd Singles with a 6-0, 6-0 win. At 1st Singles, Nakul Nagesh competed in a hard-fought three-set match. In doubles, Carmel was dominant. Jude Sangar and Andrew Hall earned a convincing 6-0, 6-1 victory at 1st Doubles, while Rajeev Singh and Micah Shapiro won 6-4, 6-1 at 2nd Doubles. The Junior Varsity team also put together an outstanding performance, sweeping all nine courts. Alex Crook won at 1st Singles, 6-1, 6-0. In doubles, Dhanvanth Lakshman and Josiah Huang won 6-2, 6-3; Grayson Miller and Shreeram Pathangi won 6-0, 6-3; Luke Zhang and Dhruv Kuber won 6-1, 6-0; Justin Li and Alan Lu won 6-0, 6-0; Nicholas Jen and Ronit Mengale won 6-2, 6-1; Aditya Bhatia and Aaron Gao won 6-1, 6-0; Pengrui Yang and Warner Shea won 6-0, 6-0; and William Geng and Devin Shah won 6-0, 6-0. Overall, Carmel won 13 of the 14 recorded courts against Cathedral and delivered a dominant team performance. The Greyhounds improve to 2-0 on the season.
