After having their first two matches postponed due to inclement weather, the top-ranked Carmel Greyhounds boys soccer team finally opened their season on the road against Ben Davis, battling to a 1-1 draw. Carmel took early control midway through the first half when junior Jet Truitt found the back of the net to give the Hounds a 1-0 lead. The Greyhounds carried that momentum into halftime, maintaining their one-goal advantage. The Hounds continued to press forward in the second half, creating several dangerous opportunities, but were unable to extend their lead. Ben Davis capitalized late in the match to equalize the score. The Hounds responded with urgency in the final minutes, forcing two excellent late shots on goal, with one being saved by the Giants' goalkeeper and the follow-up opportunity blocked by the defense, to seal the draw.
