The Carmel Girls Track & Field team celebrated Senior Night with a strong all-around performance Tuesday evening, defeating Zionsville 121-11 in a dual meet at Carmel Stadium. The Greyhounds showed their depth across nearly every event group, winning relays, sweeping several individual events, and getting major contributions from seniors, underclassmen, and everyone in between. It was a fun night to recognize the Class of 2026 while also watching the full roster get a chance to compete. Carmel opened the meet with a win in the 4x800 relay, as Arden Finley, Anna Yoon, Ella Weaver, and Emma Meisner finished in 10:10.40 to get the night started on the right foot. The Greyhounds kept rolling from there, adding a victory in the 4x100 relay, where Farah Azeez, Livi Miller, Kate Hammond, and Jenna Harris ran 50.16. Carmel closed out the meet with another relay win in the 4x400, as Kaitlyn Oshimura, Molly Foley, Livi Miller, and Gaby Grande Rosas finished in 4:05.18. On the track, Carmel had several standout performances. Faith Tchuente Fotso won the 100m hurdles in 16.26, followed by teammates Charlotte Hunter and Katelyn Kenney to complete a Carmel sweep of the top three spots. Jenna Harris took the win in the 100m dash in 12.91, while Gaby Grande Rosas doubled up with victories in both the 400m and 200m, running 57.21 and 26.63. The Greyhounds also controlled the distance events. Lilliana Cate won the 1600m in 5:39.64, with Annabelle Inman and Abigail Schilt finishing second and third. In the 800m, freshman Molly Foley earned the win in 2:21.15, while Jade Gackowski added a third-place finish. Maddie Cox led a Carmel sweep in the 3200m, winning in 11:34.70, followed by Izzie Shin and Sophie Frey. The hurdles crew continued to shine in the 300m hurdles, where Maija Gilhooly won in 47.73, followed by Livi Miller and Charlotte Hunter for another Carmel sweep. In the field events, Carmel continued to stack up points. Vera Griffin won the high jump at 5-00, with Marie Perrin finishing second. Elise Maurer won the long jump with a mark of 14-06.50, edging out Zionsville by a quarter inch because sometimes track and field really does come down to the tiniest details. The pole vault was another strong event for the Greyhounds, with Livi Miller clearing 11-03 for the win and Kate Hammond finishing second at 11-00. In the throws, Carmel was dominant. Ellie Cooley won the discus with a throw of 136-09, followed by Amyla Holder and Norah Chase. Holder came back to win the shot put with a mark of 35-04.50, with Chase and Abigail Bonacker completing the top three sweep. It was a great night for the Greyhounds, not only because of the team win, but because so many athletes had the opportunity to compete, contribute, and be part of a special Senior Night atmosphere. The Class of 2026 has helped set a high standard for Carmel Girls Track & Field, and Tuesday night was another reminder of the depth, talent, and team-first spirit that make this group so much fun to coach. Go Hounds!
